Karuna started her intro thread on dLife.in on the 13th of August 2016. She was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in December 2015, and had the following to share:
My nos. on 30/12/15:
- Fbs 120 mg/dL
- ppbs 173 mg/dL
- Hb1ac 7.3%
Was not on medication, tried to control with walks & diet, as in cutting all sugar from diet
Reduced my quantity of food. frequent meals but HbA1C stayed at 7
Was determined not to use any drugs.
Fast forward to 2018, and she posted her success story in August 2018, with the following to share:
- HbA1C: 5.4%
- FBS: 90 mg/dL
- PPBS: 91 mg/dL
- Fasting Insulin: 7.2 µU/mL
She has been maintaining an HbA1C of 5.4% consistently for almost 2 years now, on Indian Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) diet. Her detailed reports are available on her recent success story thread. At 67 years young, she is a role model for any diabetic who would want to get back to non-diabetic numbers, with least or nil dependence on medicines, and just by tweaking one’s lifestyle to LCHF way of living.
Congratulations to Karuna for having achieved what she has achieved. With a family full of doctors, it was not easy for her to switch to the LCHF way of life, but she did it. As they say:
Where there’s a will there’s a way.
